Niyne is quickly carving out his space in dancehall’s evolving landscape. With his unique blend of charisma, smoothness, and versatility, he effortlessly switches between deejaying, singing, and rapping. Hailing from St. Mary, a parish known for producing reggae and dancehall icons, Niyne has steadily grown his fanbase. But 2025 is set to be his breakthrough year, with his latest release, "Best of All Time," giving fans just a glimpse of what's ahead. We caught up with the trapstar from the north to talk about his new single, his collaboration with producer Dre Barnes, and what fans can expect from him this year.

When asked about the "trapstar from the north" moniker, Niyne explains, “It won’t be on every track, but you’ll hear it plenty. Some tracks just don’t need it, like the more positive ones. But we’re always trapstars at the core.”

With 2025 shaping up to be a pivitol year and fans clamoring for more consistent releases, the artist is ready to meet the demand, promising, “You’ll still hear that signature sound you know and love, but this year, we’re pushing boundaries. We’re stepping into new territory while keeping the essence of what made us who we are.” This mindset reflects his focus on growth without losing what makes him unique.

Dropping the single alongside its visuals signals that he’s fully committed to the journey. “The break wasn’t a step back,” he explains. “It was about locking in on my sound and finding my direction. Now? All gas, no brakes.”

Lastly, the collaboration with Dre Barnes is a significant step forward for Niyne, especially considering Barnes’ track record with hits like Armanii’s “Dunce Barbie” and Alkaline’s “Iz You & Boss." Reflecting on how it all came together, he shares, “I first connected with Dre online a few years ago, and we've been working together ever since. However, this is our first official release; I got the beat, the vibe was right, and the rest is history.

As 2025 unfolds, it’s evident that Niyne is crafting his own blueprint in the dancehall scene, one track at a time.
